Mats Eilertsen is one of my favourite musicians and composers. Much has been said, written and published about the Nordic tone and icy jazz – two music criticism categorisations that seem to have payed more attention to ECM’s album covers than to the music itself. This video – which is part of a fabulous documentary series (this one entitled "Oslo Jazzed Out”) – does not help. However, one wouldn’t mind taking that particular ferry ride.
